Fleet Landing restaurant of Charleston, SC, bolsters efficiency and keeps dining room full with restaurant pagers from HME Wireless
In a beautiful waterfront city like Charleston, SC, dining on the water in a given. Yet Fleet Landing finds itself in the enviable position of being the only restaurant in downtown Charleston on the water. Pair that with an unobstructed view of Charleston harbor and a delicious blend of contemporary seafood and proven southern classics—you have a recipe for success, not to mention crowds.
That’s one of the reasons Fleet Landing has chosen to implement restaurant pagers from HME Wireless. The move to HME Wireless started with Fleet Landing experiencing range and reliability issues with its old paging system. None of which have been an issue since the switch to one of HME Wireless’ restaurant paging systems.
“I wanted a pager that really alerted the customers they were going off and the HME Wireless pagers do that perfectly. We’re really thankful for it.” said executive assistant Sarah Nielsen of the new pagers for restaurant.
That kind of reliability has helped Fleet Landing to deliver customer-friendly service and reduce walkaway’s during peak operating times. Nielsen also noted that the GuestCall LTD restaurant pagers had an immediate impact on the restaurant’s efficiency, which helps customers to be seated faster (always a good idea in the restaurant business).
“We absolutely have noticed a difference,” said Nielsen. “Efficiency is a main part of our business, and the pagers allow us to turn tables quicker, and keep the restaurant full. It pays for itself 10 times over!”
Fleet Landing is located in a retired naval building on the east side of the Charleston peninsula. The building was built in 1942 as a debarkation point for sailors, and lay vacant after WWII until being acquired by the South Carolina Port Authority in the 1960s. In 2003, Fleet Landing owner Tradd Newton bought the building for renovation, and opened for business in 2004. The historical building is true to its origins, retaining its original windows and wood frames.
"We are really proud of the job we did for Fleet Landing," stated Russ Ford, Vice President of HME Wireless. "We were very confident we could be a part of the solution to the issues they were having and it has worked out great."
This truly original dining destination also features some original takes on southern classics, like shrimp and grits, fried calamari strips, and a fried green tomato BLT. No wonder Fleet Landing has been voted “best waterfront dining” six times for all restaurants in Charleston.
And now, with new café pagers from HME Wireless, Fleet Landing is making its customers even happier—knowing that they can relax and soak in the view while waiting for a table, and never worry that they’ll miss a page.
